What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is derived from hemp plants that have high amounts of cannabidiol CBD and low levels of THC. At Doc Patels, our CBD oil contains 0.0% THC. CBD content differs significantly with different brands due to the different quality of hemp that is used to create CBD products. Doc Patels produces some of the highest quality CBD oil you can find. Through our unique extraction process, our high-quality CBD plants are grown in the USA.

How is your CBD oil manufactured?

Our hemp is grown and harvested in Colorado.

Is Broad Spectrum CBD oil psychoactive?

Doc Patels producsts are made with broad spectrum oils which has zero trace amount of THC. Our products do not cause a high.

What is CBD?

CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring substance that is credited with helping a host of medical problems. This includes epileptic seizures, anxiety, chronic pain, inflammation, and sleeplessness. Unlike its cousin tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), Doc Patels CBD is not psychoactive. In other words, CBD doesn’t cause a high.

Can you get high off CBD?

CBD is not psychoactive. In other words, it does not get you high. THC, on the other hand, is psychoactive. It does get you high. Doc Patels CBD products have 0.00% THC. So, you don’t have to worry about getting high off of them.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

Routine drug tests typically don’t screen for CBD. Instead, they usually detect THC or one of its metabolites. However, bear in mind that the person ordering the drug test could request to have CBD added to the list of substances being screened for. If you’re not looking to take a risk on testing positive for THC and it’s metabolites on a drug test, then use CBD products that have absolutely no THC in them. You’ll notice on the lab test results that the DocPatels CBD products have non-detectable levels of THC.

What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?

The Endocannabinoid System can be thought of as a system of locks and keys. The locks being the cannabinoid receptors and the keys being the chemicals – Cannabinoids – that fit into these locks.

The chemicals come from a couple different places. They’re made by the body, which are known as Endocannabinoids. They’re made by the cannabis plant, which are known as PhytoCannabinoids. CBD and THC are types of PhytoCannabinoids. Or, they’re made in a lab, which are known as Synthetic Cannabinoids, which are typically sold as medications available by prescription.

When the keys come together with the locks, they cause a series of chemical reactions that results in outcomes like relief of pain, feeling more calm and relaxed, sleeping better, and more.

How does CBD work?

Due to legal restrictions, we still have a lot more to learn about how CBD works. But, from what we know, there are several different ways in which CBD works.

For one, CBD attenuates the effects of THC. CBD changes the shape of Cannabinoid Receptor – 1 preventing THC from attaching to it and in turn, prevents the feeling of that high.

CBD also interacts with a myriad of other receptors in the body, like 5HT1A, unlocking a series of chemical reactions that lead to effects like pain relief, feeling more calm and relaxed, improved quality of sleep and more.

Why do people take CBD?

In the years that I’ve practiced in the field of Cannabinoid Medicine, my patients have reported CBD to be effective for, among other conditions,

  • Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Back Pain from bulging, herniated, or degenerative discs
  • Back Spasms
  • Chemotherapy-induced Neuropathy
  • Diabetic Neuropathy
  • Epilepsy
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
  • Insomnia (mild to moderate)
  • Menstrual Cramps
  • Migraines
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Nerve Pain from Lyme Disease
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Panic Disorder
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Sciatica
  • Seizures
  • Social Anxiety
  • Tension Headaches
  • Trigeminal Neuralgia

How is Hemp different from Marijuana?

The main difference between the two is the percentage of THC. While both are a type of cannabis plant, hemp is a plant with less than 0.3% of THC while marijuana has much more.

Do your products have THC in them?

Doc Patels CBD products have non-detectable levels of THC.

Is it possible to take to much CBD?

It is absolutely possible to take too much CBD. However, there have been no reported cases of lethalities from overdosing on CBD.

When it comes to dosing CBD, ultimately, you want to hit the “sweet spot.” Too little CBD causes no effect. Too much CBD causes side effects. When you hit the “sweet spot,” you experience the benefits of CBD, without experiencing its side effects.

The right dose of CBD varies highly from person to person. For example, I had 2 patients struggling with Insomnia. Both were otherwise healthy. They were of similar body size and body shape. They had a similar BMI – Body Mass Index. They both tried the exact same CBD product. One patient needed 2.5 mg of CBD to fall asleep, whereas the other patient needed 50 mg of CBD to fall asleep.

Work with one of our trained and licensed healthcare professionals to figure out the exact dose that’s right for you!

Are there any negative side effects?

An in-depth investigation of the research shows that the side effects of CBD products are usually rare, and, for most people, the benefits far outweigh the risks. Research shows that the most commonly reported side effects of CBD are tiredness, diarrhea, and decreased appetite & weight.

Clinically, I’ve seen patients experience little to no side effects from CBD products.
