THC Free CBD Oil

What is 0.00% THC CBD Oil?

Wrapping your head around what all the terms in the CBD industry truly mean can be a headache. With more and more Americans interested in the benefits of CBD and the claims CBD companies are making – do we really know what it means when CBD companies are claiming to be 0.00% THC?

What is THC?

THC, also known as tetrahydrocannabinol, is the main psychoactive compound that is found in the marijuana plant that gives people a euphoric or ‘high’ effect. This effect can occur by smoking marijuana or can be found in different forms such as edibles, oils, supplements, creams, and more.

For a period of time, people thought of hemp as something that may be harmful and associated it many times with marijuana. While the plants are identical, they have a few vital differences.

The most important difference to know between hemp and marijuana is that there are significantly more traces of THC found in marijuana.

What is 0.00% THC CBD Oil?

There are many different types of CBD oil that you can find online, in grocery stores, convenience stores and even in gas stations. However, do you really know what these CBD products contain and which one you should be taking?

CBD products can be ingested in your body orally or can be used on the surface of your skin as a topical. CBD oil can contain low to high amounts of CBD and can be taken to help with a number of ailments.

You can also buy CBD oil that contains THC or contains zero trace amounts of THC. Currently, the industry and legal standard for any CBD product is one that contains less than 0.3% THC by weight. So, what does this mean? This means that a CBD product can legally contain up to 3 parts of THC for every thousand parts of oil by weight.

To break this down in a simple way to understand – while it is true that the legal standard is 0.3% if enough CBD oil with this amount of THC is consumed this could be enough to get you high. Even more important to note, some CBD tinctures contain as much THC as a marijuana joint which can result in anyone who takes a drug test to fail!

According to Forbes magazine, “Over the summer, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a report showing that phony CBD merchandise was responsible for poisoning more than 50 people in Utah. A laboratory test showed they were not CBD, but rather “synthetic marijuana, often referred to as Spice and K2. Other reports from around the country surfaced later showing this was not an isolated incident.”
